There’s still more work to be done. While Montgomery Parks parks has made progress by ending the practice of pesticides on playgrounds, they continue to use toxic pesticide and Roundup to kill common, harmless weeds, like clovers and dandelions on lawn areas and throughout the parks. Recently, a toxic weedkiller was applied on 13 acres of lawn in Brookside Gardens and on multiple children’s playing fields – this is not the way to ‘go green’.
